Ib Jelsdal joined the Danish resistance during WWII as a teenager, securing weapons and ammunition for the Allies.
After the war, he helped maintain law and order in Copenhagen, where a notable photograph was taken of him.
He later trained with the Royal Danish Navy and spent his career as a blacksmith at the Royal Danish Air Force Air Base.
Throughout his life, he was a dedicated member of the Danish Home Guard, founded by WWII Freedom Fighters in 1945.

His deep knowledge of the watch industry led to the creation of JELSDAL, a brand honoring his grandfather, Ib Jelsdal. Mick finds joy in working on JELSDAL, as it keeps the memory of his grandfather alive, celebrating his craftsmanship through handmade goods.
